This world is becoming an evil and bitter place. What happened to the saying "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you." There are so many people out there who act friendly to your face but stab you in the back when your not around. When you read that do you immediatly think of someone who has done that to you? Or do you think "wow, i've done that to." If you did think of someone else thats fine, but dont' forget that you have done it to at some point and time in your life. If you have never done that (which is highly unlikely) i'll say wow, way to go!" I'll admit, i've done it, although im not proud of it, and am disappointed in myself. Everyone has done it (at least that i know of). Like the other day at a place i won't specify, my sister and i were cleaning up and she found a piece of paper that had our names on it, beside my name it said "thin", and beside my sisters name is said "a little more" now we know the person who wrote it and we were highly disappointed to think that this lady would say something about my sister like that. although i know she wouldnt' admit it, it hurt her. Why was something like that written on a piece of paper? Why does it matter? And Why were they talking about us? There is no simple explaination to a situation like this (and by the way my sister is not "a little more" than me at all she is jsut as thin as me) Lately people at this specific place have been insulting my sister and mine's weight among other various hurtful things. I don't know if they realize their hurting us or what. It comes down to the whole world pressure thing. The world says to girls that they have to be skinny. God tells us that we just have to be who we are and follow Him. Although this piece of paper im sure hurt my sister, it doesn't matter, because agian the only person that we have to measure up to is God, we have to obey His standards and His standards only. So whatever motivates those people to make fun of my sister and i, can motivate them. We dont' have to listen to them and should be so grounded in our relationship with God that it shouldn't bother us. I mean yes it is hurtful to hear things like that, and yes we all do the same thing, but i am trying to not be that way. I dont' want to be that way at all but because of human and sinful nature I am that way unfortunatly. If we would all just try a little harder to be kind to everyone we come in contact with, this world would be a better place. Every little nice thing you do can improve this world and make others feel loved and cared for.
